No to the ban on demonstrations that the Greek government is trying to impose

The World Federation of Teachers’ Unions, FISE, a member of the WFTU, denounces the government’s attempt to give the State full control over the operation and action of the unions.

The ND government is moving in the same direction as the previous SYRIZA government and is passing a law that makes demonstrations prohibitive or terribly difficult, attacks the workers’ rights and the organization of the class trade union movement.

These are measures tailored to European Union directives, exactly as the capital wants in order to be able to stifle and subjugate the international trade union movement that is struggling with the line of the WFTU for the interests of the working class and not of the employers.

We call on FISE trade unions, the workers around the world to draw conclusions about the role of governments over time and how they serve the interests of monopoly groups and not of the people, to stand in solidarity in the struggle of the Greek class movement to cancel this reactionary law.

The struggle of the workers in Greece must be supported by all of us because the trade union freedoms and the class struggle are our business, too.
