Greetings and Solidarity Statement on the 116 th International Women’s Day – 8 March
On the historic occasion of the 116th International Women’s Day, I extend my warm greetings and revolutionary solidarity to women teachers, workers, and all women around the world.
International Women’s Day stands as a powerful symbol of the long struggle of women for equality, dignity, social justice, and emancipation from exploitation and discrimination. For more than a century, women have played a decisive role in movements for democracy, peace, education, and the defense of workers’ rights.
On this important day, we honor the courage and determination of women who continue to fight against oppression, poverty, war, and imperialism. Across the world, women educators and workers remain at the forefront of the struggle for quality public education, social progress, gender equality, and lasting peace.
As a Secretariat Member of the World Federation of Teachers’ Unions (FISE), affiliated with the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), I express our unwavering commitment to strengthening international solidarity among teachers, workers, and progressive movements in defense of women’s rights and human dignity.
Let us unite our voices and actions to build a world free from exploitation, violence, and imperialist domination of world where women and men enjoy equal rights, opportunities, and respect.
