FISE SOLIDARITY TO THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE

The World Federation of Teachers Union, FISE, a member of the WFTU, condemns the new escalation of Israeli violence and aggression against the Palestinian people. The new crime began with the barbaric invasion of Israeli repressive forces in the Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem and their murderous attack on civilians and children.

In the just struggle of the Palestinians to acquire their own homeland, the state of Israel responds with illegal operations and demolitions of Palestinian houses, with the aim of expanding the illegal Jewish settlements.

The struggle of the Palestinian people to end the Israeli occupation and settlement, to return the refugees, to release the political prisoners from the Israeli prisons is fair.

The supporters of Israel, all those who cooperate with them in the military and the more efficient murderous violence against the Palestinians, all those who “justify their right” in “self-defence” (as for example many yellow trade unions), all those who call “both parts to deescalate  violence “, are hostile to the fundamental and basic rights of the Palestinian people.

FISE denounces the Imperialist Forces, US – EU and NATO, who support the murderous machine of the state of Israel. They have a huge responsibility in escalating the aggression of the murderous state of Israel. They are the ones who officially recognized Jerusalem as the capital of the state of Israel, aggravating the aggression.

We express our full support and solidarity with the – once again suffering- people of Palestine. We call on the teachers and the unions of FISE to strengthen the solidarity initiatives. To participate in the online solidarity event organized by WFTU in the INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF SOLIDARITY WITH PALESTINE.

Tuesday, 18 May 2021 at 16.00 pm, Greek time

We demand:

  • The termination of the Israeli occupation and the creation of an independent, viable and sovereign Palestinian state, on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
  • The demolition of the separation wall and the immediate lifting of the blockade of the Palestinian territories.
  • The immediate termination of the settlements and the departure of the settlers.
  • The immediate release of all Palestinian political prisoners in Israel and the right of all Palestinian refugees to return to their homes.
