CITU: In Solidarity with the massive Teachers’ Strike against the anti-Education Reforms of the Government in Greece

In Solidarity with the massive Teachers’ Strike against the anti-Education Reforms of the Government in Greece

The CITU hails the massive participation by teachers in Greece in the strike on Monday, 11th October 2021 against the government’s anti-educational reforms. It condemns the threats by the government to use the courts to declare the strike illegal.

The demonstrations by teachers and students in support of the strike are an inspiration for teachers, students and working people in India who are also fighting against educational reforms that seek to deprive the common people of their right to a quality education through privatisation, commercialisation and changes in the service conditions of teachers.

The CITU expresses its solidarity with the ongoing struggle of the unions in Greece and wishes them all success.
