October 3, 2021 International Day of the WFTU World Trade Union Movement
October 4, 2021 International Day of the FISE World Teachers’ Trade Union Movement
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the world trade union organization of teachers, branch of the WFTU, FISE.
We honor the international day of our organizations of the WFTU and FISE by presenting an ancient tragedy to teachers and workers of Athens.
The work was written 2500 years ago by the ancient Greek writer and poet Euripides and unfortunately remains seasonable. A work that reaches us like a cry through the centuries. It continues to denounce not only the brutality of the war but also the arrogance of the ubiquitous victors and rulers. It is a text that worth to be taught to our students around the world.
The theatrical team of PAME was founded in 2008 and continues to firmly frame the workers’ struggles. It consists of workers who love art and serve the theater from workers to workers..
In the theatrical show:
- George Mavrikos General Secretary of the WFTU and
- Chrysoula Lampoudi, vice-president of FISE and head of PAME cultural groups
will attend and address a greeting.
