The spread of coronavirus continues, schools in Greece open again after the Christmas holidays, without any additional protection measures.
Teachers demand the safe operation of schools and protest with the following demands:
We require:
1.Less students in the classrooms. Revocation of all previous mergers of classes.
2.Free test for Covid for everyone under the responsibility of EODY (National Organization of Public Health).
3.Abolition of the unacceptable percentage of 50% + 1 of students with covid for the closure of a class and the quarantine of only 5 days.
4.Mass recruitment of teachers to fill the gaps. No teacher transfers and class mergers.
5.Free protective masks and personal protective equipment for everyone.
6.Emergency funding of school committees.
7.Abolish the Minimum Success Score and Question Bank for admission in the University
8.Not to apply the “assessment” of schools that divides students into categories and increases class inequalities.
9.Strengthening of the Public health system. Requisition of private health sector.
Here and now essential measures to be taken for the protection of health and educational rights!
We are fighting for safe schools and not places of coronavirus outbreaks.
