FISE in solidarity with the struggle of Teachers in the provincial region of La Rioja, Argentina

The International Secretariat of the International Federation of Education Unions FISE, affiliated to the World Federation of Trade Unions WFTU, is in solidarity with the struggle carried out for weeks by education workers affiliated to the Association of Teachers and Professors AMP, in the provincial region of La Rioja, Argentina, is this, to put an end to decent wages and for the defense of public education, and to achieve a satisfactory wage increase and in accordance with the needs of education workers by the provincial government of La Rioja.
The extraordinary provincial assembly, (face-to-face session/school delegates of the Association of Teachers and Professors of La Rioja AMP of 10/10/2024), ratified the continuity of the fight plan within the framework of the state of alert and the permanent assembly, and called the Governor of the province of La Rioja, to receive in audience the representatives of the AMP, the assembly of Monday, October 14 will take place to evaluate the audience with the Governor of the Province of La Rioja.
Likewise, the International Secretariat of the International Federation of Teachers’ Unions FISE supports the energetic measures taken by the AMP union against the guidelines of the initial teacher training programs, implemented in resolution No. 476/24, approved by the Federal Council of Education, based on the closure of teacher training centers, which endangers the stability of employment and access to educational training opportunities for young people and adults.
