FISE,the World Federation of Teachers Union, affiliated member to WFTU, the World Federation of Trade Unions, denounces the police attack against the protesting teachers in Sri Lanka.
The teachers who held a peaceful protest, organized by CTSU, demanding 6 demands in front of the Ministry of Education on 28th February, were cruelly attacked by the police that used water cannon, tear gas and batton charge against them.
FISE expresses its strong support and solidarity with CTSU and the colleagues teachers who were injured and hospitalized because of the attack, as well as with the just struggle of the teachers in Sri Lanka. FISE denounces the violent attack and repression of the police.
