The teachers are on 48-hour strike due to dramatic deficiencies

FISE (World Federation of Teachers’ Union), a member of the World Federation of Trade Unions, salutes teachers’ strike in Netherlands.

Tens of thousands of primary and secondary school teachers are on strike, continuing their struggle – for several months – demanding a significantly increase in governmental spending on education. They claim an additional 560 million Euros to cover major deficiencies of teachers, support staff and other needs.

According to the Aob Teachers’ Federation, 4 out of 10 elementary schools and 1 out of 5 secondary schools have a lack of teachers. “On 2020, 55,000 primary school pupils will not have a classroom teacher, and if we do nothing, we will have about 240,000 pupils (without a teacher) in 2028,” notes  the Aob.

FISE is on the side of teachers and parents whose children are facing educational deficiencies.

We send militant greeting to strikers fighting for the education and the modern rights of  teachers.

Education is a weapon in the hands of the working class. Fight for it

We are on your side !!
