The secretariat of the World Federation of Teachers’ Unions (FISE) denounces the attack of the security forces against the teachers of Mauritania and their arrest, because they were protesting for their arbitrary transfer to remote areas of the country. These transfers were decided in order for the teachers to be punished because they were participated in previous strike mobilizations.
FISE expresses its solidarity with the struggle of teachers in Mauritania. FISE expresses its solidarity with the struggle of every worker to improve working conditions and with the struggle for the defense of the freedom of expression and the freedom of trade union action.
We call upon the teachers of Mauritania to strengthen their action and to inform FISE at the following emails:
