The university students continue their mobilizations across Greece

The university students continue their mobilizations across Greece against the closure of faculties planned by the Greek government. With the initiative of the Students’ Front of Struggle (MAS), a students’ organization allied with PAME, large demonstrations are being held every day in all big cities of Greece, Athens, Thessaloniki, Patra, Larissa etc. Today they are holding an all-day blockade of the Ministry of Education.

In their announcement they highlight:
“We must enter the struggle more decisively! For the education, the work and the life that we deserve. We do not deserve a life like this. They have knelt us and our families with the dismissals, the cuts in wages – pensions, the head fines and the taxes, the loans, the increases in electricity bills, the cuts in free Health and medicines”.

“We do not deserve a University like this. We cannot afford to pay any more for our studies, to be “clients” at Universities and Technological Institutes! Organization in every semester and every department is needed. Only if we take the unions in our hands and transform them into instruments of struggle, if we are organized in every semester, only if committees of struggle are made everywhere and strengthened, if the rally around the Students’ Front of Struggle (MAS) grows, we will have positive results!”

“We demand:
No student to be thrown out from his studies – to ensure that all students will complete their studies undistracted and completely free”.
“The problem of housing for the students who study in cities away from their place of residence must be solved”.
